The Biblical Portrayal of Saint Joseph, Patron of the Universal Church

In this 150th anniversary of the declaration by Blessed Pope Pius IX of St. Joseph as the Patron of the Universal Church, our Holy Father, Pope Francis pronounced 8 December 2020 - 8 December 2021 the ‘Year of St. Joseph.’

We are pleased to be able to present a seminar dedicated to exploring the significance of St. Joseph in Sacred Scripture on Saturday morning, December 11, from 9:00am - 12:00pm, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Nebraska City.

Mass will be offered at 8:00, followed by light breakfast refreshments at 8:30. The seminar will commence at 9:00 and will feature three talks, one by each of the Emmaus teaching staff, on the Bible’s own presentation of St. Joseph, the patron of the Holy Family and of the universal Church.

  • “St. Joseph: A Biblical Biography” (Vern Steiner)
  • “What We Can Learn About New Testament Joseph From Old Testament Joseph” (Chad Steiner)
  • “St. Joseph: An Image of the Father” (Joshua Burks)

The seminar is complimentary, but if you would like to participate in the advancement of these kinds of study opportunities, we will gratefully accept free will donations.
